Usinonedori is famous for hikers by its beautiful trail surround by autumn leaves in the season.
The October is the best season for hiker loves 2,000m-class mountains in Japan. We can enjoy the beautiful forest surrounded by autumn leaves. However this October was awful, many typhoons hit to Japan every weekend.
Finally I could hike in Ushinonedori and enjoy the beautiful autumn leaves on early November.
1.Koya-Daira bus stop to Ishimaru Toge
I got the hiking bus from Kai-Yamato staition, JR Chuo-Honsen line. The bus to Kami-Nikkawa Toge was full by so many hikers. After 50 minutes ride, I arrived at Koya-Daira is the one before final stop. The fee is ¥970.
8:30, I started hike for Ishimaru Toge (Toge means the path in Japanese).
This is the typical trail of Dai-Bosatsu area, beautiful bumboo grass and larch trees.
I could see Mt.Fuji between the trees.
Hike up to the path with gorgeous view.
9:15, I arrived at Ishimaru Toge. I could see Mt.Fuji and Southern Japanese Alps Mountains.
2.Hiking in Ushinonedori Trail
Go to left side to Ushinonedori trail at this point.
Ushi-no-ne means the back of the sitting cow, Dori means the trail in Japanese. The trail is literally flat and there are not up and down.
Clouds are growing at the east side, I going to.
Hike down to the Ushinonedori trail, I surrounded by clouds. And I could see the beautiful trees with fog.
I was sad because I expected the blue sky by weather forecast, but I was changed my mind soon by the combination of mysterious fog and autumn leaves.
What a beautiful trail this is.
Sometimes the sunlight reached to the trail. The atmosphere was changed drastically.
3.Hike down to the goal
11:30, I arrived Mt.Oo-Matei. I got lunch at this spot.
Hike down to the goal, Kosuge-no-Yu (Kosuge hot spring).
I could see the big chestnut trees.
The goal is close when I hike down to the river side and...
Wasabi field.
13:15, I finished my hiking at Kosuge-no-Yu. We can go to the Okutama or Saruhashi station by bus from here.
